On Friday 27, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 June 2008 the Dutch chess club HWP Haarlem organises the seventh ROC Nova College Tournament. For a number of years this tournament has been one of the strongest weekend tournaments in the Netherlands. Winners of previous editions include the international grandmasters Friso Nijboer, Erwin l'Ami, Vladimir Epishin, Aleksander Berelovich, Stelios Halkias, Merab Gagunashvili, Vyacheslav Ikonnikov. The latter will also participate in 2008.

Forty moves in 105 minutes each, followed by 15 minutes each to finish the game.
